Winkfield St Mary's CE Primary School

Welcome to Our Reception Class Pages

In Reception we are always busy and have lots of fun and adventures as we learn lots of new things, work hard and play.  We have a safe and secure environment and learn in a structured and stimulating setting using lots of fun and exciting resources.  Our highly experienced and qualified teachers and teaching assistants are:

Mrs Hartland (Monday to Wednesday)
Mrs Evans (Thursday and Friday)
Ms Gallagher and Miss Fazey (Monday to Friday)

Feel free to come and speak to any of us if you have any questions and concerns.  Alternatively you can put a note in your child's reading record for us to read or e-mail us via the school secretary (secretary@wsmschool.org)  and we will respond to your messages as soon as possible.

Reception year at Winkfield St Mary's is an important foundation to their learning and we have created a curriculum which will prepare children to be ready for Year 1 learning.  You can access a document which explains this here.

On this page you will find useful information and details of our learning for the Autumn Term 2023

PE is on a Tuesday afternoon.  Please name all PE clothing!  We visit the Library on Wednesday mornings when library books will be changed (so they should be returned each Wednesday please).

Home Learning

Reading books will be changed each Friday.  Please ensure you write in the reading diary when you have read with your child (every evening if possible).  You will now have 2 phonics books so you can practise the sounds we have taught at home regularly.  During this term we will continue to send home weekly handwriting practice sheets. (changed each Monday)
